    Steve, the video is 2 years old so possibly things have changed. My B&O dealer here in the US says they cannot be stereo paired and will not work with a TV. Hope they are wrong. We are not into the typical BIG sound bars and subs for TV viewing. As well we don’t really like the wall space taken up by The Stage. These would be perfect in the bookcase on either side of the fireplace and TV. They would disappear! If not these then pair of Beolab 8’s but I prefer them in a listining room. Already have a pair of Balance and love the sound but prefer the emerge. Is your method still viable?

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly 18 годин тому

      Hi, I am sorry but your dealer is wrong about the stereo pairing, I use my stereo Emerges every day... Use with a TV may vary as Apple update their software, but this should still be possible using Airplay for a wireless connection.

    Hi Steve, I enjoyed your video! I bought an A5 from Bicester Village B&O store back in February and have been immensely impressed with the sound quality and power...so much so that I've just bought another (immaculate apparently) on ebay for a considerable saving. Very much looking forward to stereo-pairing them. They ARE expensive, but the quality is clear, and it's hugely added to my pleasure in listening to music. Thanks again for the great review!

    Steve, thanks for putting together part 3. Looking forward to part 4. Watching these videos, I often wonder, what would have happened if the late Steve Jobs, Sir Jony Ive and the likes of Torsten, and the late David Lewis all got in the same room and shared ideas about design. Apple & B&O have lots of common ground in that space. Would have rewritten history in a way... Just my thoughts. Cheers from Australia!

    I did all that you said with my Penta's in the video, but when I have people over and I crank it up to about 50 playing Led Zeppelin, everyone in the room goes into convulsions and they fall on the floor bleeding from the ears. Steve, thanks for all the tips, great video! Is connecting the speakers directly to the router or switch via lan still the preferred way of stereo pairing as opposed to WIFI (I will not be using powerlink)? Will pairing the speakers via Ethernet still keep WISA enabled for the purpose of controlling the speakers via a WISA hub? Thanks

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly 7 днів тому

      Glad you liked the videos! Yes, wired Ethernet cables are always the most reliable way of pairing the speakers to your router, this won't prevent WiSA wireless connection to a B&O TV if required in the future.

    • @Nemanja-s8c
      @Nemanja-s8c 7 днів тому

      @@soundsheavenly Thank you, Steve! My intention is make a 4.0 surround setup using a Platin Audio Surround hub X (WISA hub capable of decoding Atmos and DTS:X), with two Beolab 28’s as front speakers and two Beolab 8’s as surround speakers. In this scenario I would connect only the 28’s via Ethernet (the way you described in your video) so that I can use them for stereo music listening when they are not used in the surround setup. Otherwise, when watching movies, all four speakers would be connected to the hub via WISA. Do you think this could work? Many thanks again.

    Hello Steve, thanks for your beautiful items about B&O. I like to share my story with the brand. It started with a telephone, the banana, we bought about 15 years ago. But it broke after collecting water and the dealer said it could not be repaired. Very disappointing. Two years ago we moved from the north of the Netherlands to the south. I found a shop there who sold second hand B&O products and told him my problem. He assured me that it could be fixed. So it took a while but the telephone works very good until today. Then our television broke and we decided to buy a second hand item from his storage. I don’t know the type. It has a big floorstanding and moves towards us when we put it on. Great television. My latest purchase is from the same shop who repaired the telephone. A new pair of Beolab 28 speakers. An amazing set which I can stream with and also play my modified Thorens TD 160 and the Beogram 2300 CD player. I am super excited about it. The sound is astonishing.

    Thank you for the guide. I have a question, I'm planning to get a Beolab 4000 and BeoSound 3200, however I also want to use these speakers with a turntable. Can I have both systems connected at the same time? And if its possible do I have to turn the switch at the back every time I switch between the BeoSound and turntable?

    Mindblowing is the word that comes to mind when hearing Torsten explain some of the concerns and thought process. Such a joy. I never exactly understood why drawing or designing B&O products would take so long but when explaining exactly like Torsten did, you get the idea how he looks at other natural references (mushroom), natural effects (the way your eyes and mind react to angles and reflections), how he works in close collaboration with engineers (the one-piece aluminium), how he implements associations of The Entertainer (The Eclipse), how all this and more make designing a complex process, lasting pretty much throughout the entire development. The result is more admirable than if you just look at it without being informed or educated. Do you know what else can do that? Where if an (audio) guide is used you get the context, meaning and story behind? Art!

    That was a fascinating interview thank you. The Beovision Contour is, in fact, my favourite current television design by B & O. I remember when I first saw it I was immediately struck by the out-of-the-box thinking. You don't have to always go for this thinnest edges around the screen, you can have a frame like this and celebrate that frame in the design. I love the simplicity of the Contour, the simple dividing line between the screen and the speaker area is really beautiful.

    Hi Steve, thanks for your lovely channel and your commitment to quality music listening. I'm considering buying the Beolab 18s for our smallish family living room for a music setup. I have a turntable with preamplication, but I am looking for the most wireless or minimalist possible option for an effective setup. Would the Beolab 8s on the Mozart system be a better choice or is there a way to set up the Beolab 18s with minimal wiring, through let's say the Bluenote Nord or an equivalent streamer, I'm trying to avoid the traditional hi-fi route by having to wire both speakers to a central hub of some sort, or is this unavoidable with this product (and the fact I have a turntable) any cabling wisdom you might have from your website would be much appreciated and many thanks again.

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly 22 дні тому

      Thanks for your kind words! The only way to avoid wiring each speaker to a central point is to use a Beolab Receiver 1 on each speaker, plus a Beolab Transmitter 1 linked to the music source. You will also need a device with a volume control linked between the turntable pre-amp and the speakers to control the volume.

      @TomDonald 19 днів тому

      @@soundsheavenly Thanks so much for your help there Steve, that clears it up. What I don't understand about this product (the 18s) is why B&O bills this product as a wireless speaker. It's really no different to setting up wireless on any legacy B&O product. It would have saved me lots of confusion if they had just written on their site, "Classic wired active speaker, but can be extended to wireless with a few other products". It just would be a more honest approach. Am I missing anything here?

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly 19 днів тому

      @TomDonald Thanks, Beolab 18 is wireless via WiSA when used with a compatible B&O TV

    • @TomDonald
      @TomDonald 19 днів тому

      @soundsheavenly that's useful to know. Is there a way to activate the WISA features on the speakers without a TV. Is there some equivalent device that could do that? Do the speakers still need two recievers plugged into the speakers, when paired with a B&O TV? Having to get four devices including two recievers seems like a lot of hassle for a wireless speaker. It seems strange because when you visit the B&O site there is a big focus on how this is an elegant wireless product. It's certainly a beautiful speaker but it's functionality doesn't seem that different from a vintage B&O speaker. I don't know if I'm missing anything here.

    Quick question. I currently plug a rega turntable (via phono preamp) to a stereo pair of level speakers. I only need an rca to jack, and they impressively play in stereo without needing to plug the host speaker into the secondary one. Can I do the same with the Beolab 8? It doesn't have a jack lead what cables would I need to from the phono pre amp to connect to the Beolab 8?

    • @soundsheavenly
